Iron Love and Mountain Munchy

Yay for six years of marriage! Our family of three escaped to Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park this weekend to celebrate love, life, family, mountains, etc:) We started off strong with our iron theme: a cast-iron tea pot, a cast-iron skillet cookbook, Ironman (both Tim and the movie), a beefy stir-fry dinner, and our iron props (6-iron golf club, skillet, Boulder Flatirons background).
We had to play National Parks Yahtzee, of course. Tim got an all-time high of 358! Must be the National Park. Or the iron.
I indulged in a sort-of anniversary tradition of overpriced bites of apple, caramel and m&ms. (The last one was our 1st anniversary in Disneyland). Nice trout plate from our condo.
We loved our time away together and are thankful for the new addition this year brought us - our Mountain Munchy. She loves the outdoors! Our snowshoe hike to Emerald Lake was perfect.

 Here's to 60 more years!

Castlewood Canyon

Here are some pics from our weekend morning hike to yet another Colorado State Park. We're trying to hit them all before the end of the year, well, at least ones close enough to go to! Aunt Becka came along this time, with Avery's best friend, Gracie.

A Happy 7 Months!

Avery's already killing the second half of her first year. Gotta savor!!
This little one has quite the range of emotions in a short photo shoot...

Seattle is for Babies

Part 2 of our Northwest visit: The Hadliest Hadley niece in the world has lived one year. She was the most celebrated one year old I've seen in a long time! What a wonderful job her mommy did in throwing her the perfect little party.
hello, sweets!
she made these cake pops too!
cousins getting to know each other
I can't WAIT to turn 1!

To test out my up-and-coming sewing skills, I tried my hand at making Hadley's birthday present (and Isabella's, for later this month). It's a hippo bath puppet, and Isabella has a quiet book with 4 pages for the seasons. She can spend endless time (right) pulling the shapes off buttons, stuffing them in the pocket, and putting them back on:

Next, we celebrated mom's day amongst 4 family moms! Record! Tim's mom, Hadley and Isabella's mom, Avery's mom (that's ME!), and little Peach Fulmore's mom (congrats, Joanie!) all enjoyed a semi-sunny afternoon at Point Defiance zoo. Avery's first trip! She liked the peacock best we think. We love these moms.

A final mom's day hurrah with our good friends the Helleksons, moving to London this summer for a couple of years. We were spoiled to have them all to ourselves for an evening, and to be able to enjoy Steph's yummy cooking. Thanks guys!!! We can't wait to stay in touch to hear about your adventures!

All in all just a great last trip for awhile. See you at Christmas, T-town! Thanks for sharing your greatness!
