23 weeks

Baby is 23 weeks today and still living up to karate kid status, especially at night. I had my last dr. appt in Boston today, minus a final ultrasound next week. Weighs about a pound and a foot long, the size of a large mango? Is that smaller than a spaghetti squash from last time? Curious comparisons. Anyway I didn't have a Mango, so it's just me this time.

Baby's next stops: Paris, Vienna, (Ireland), then CO and Tacoma! Wowie. What a traveler.

3 more days in the apartment! This could be the last blog entry, but my guess is I'll get one more in if we get some good stories and pics from our going away party tonight. Bon Voyage givaway, just like 2 years ago in Tacoma!! How time flies.

a new view

Well, along with everything else changing in our lives in the coming year, why not change the blog too? We'll probably be doing some experimenting in the future until we land on a good 'feel' for the growing Isaacson family.

And while we're on the topic, hopefully some of the images shared on the blog will have a new look as well: BETTER! That's because I upgraded my camera in celebration of becoming a Master, traveling to Europe, and upcoming baby and CO move. I still have a LOT to learn about it, but I'm already loving it so far. Here are some examples with my portrait lens:

The one and only, number one love of mine, Super dad-to-be, TI
(happy Father's Day, Babe!)

Around Boston, our last Freedom Trail tour with special guest Drew LaForge

Off to Gloucester, Beverly, and Cape Ann with Soren to meet Miriam and Pete for dinner!

GORGEOUS decaf cappuccino, mmmm!

Pete and Miriam

the gang wolfing down some pizza (I was already done)

Miriam's apple pie she whipped up!!

And back in Boston on today's 90-degree day

Garlic scapes!! Haven't tried them yet but like green onions, from the first day of the farmer's market across the street!

And finally, the first box packed (of MANY, including the ones calling my name as I procrastinate with photos.). Back to the boxes, and then to bed!

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. Way to be.

20 weeks, baby!

It's banana baby time!

Karate kid's kicks and punches abound, ligaments are stretching, pants aren't fitting, I keep eating, headaches are coming, sleep is leaving, and there's still not a whole lot of evidence of it all! October seems far away but is getting closer and closer.

Baby is about 6.5 inches long, about the length of a banana, and 10 oz (and size of canteloupe?). It's swallowing a lot, forming taste buds, and beginning bowel buildups - gotta start sometime. I found a midwife in Colorado (I hope), and the advice-seeking on baby stuff has begun (anyone have any favorite must-have's as new parents?) I have to say I've been overwhelmed by all the things people/books say you need, especially new. We are hoping to recycle as much as is reasonably possible by buying a lot used. We'll see what we find once we get to CO!

In the meantime we have one month left in Boston, believe it or not. We'll miss it here, but we are excited for the next phase of life. Time to focus on organizing and packing, and planning our trip to Europe starting July 5 (!!). This baby is going to have been a world traveler before it arrives :)
